| Laboratory Research Technician - TROPICAL MEDICINE (HEALTH SCIENCES) - 3448 |
| JOB DUTIES: Performs laboratory technical duties in support of numerous Tulane University research projects primarily focused on malaria culture and insectary Performs experimental procedures and works semi-independently to advance research projects Keeps accurate records of procedures Maintains laboratory equipment and order supplies Work in BSL-2 laboratory is required REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences Experience in molecular- and serological diagnostics of infectious diseases Willingness and ability to work safely with infectious P. falciparum and other animal malaria models Excellent organizational and analytical skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Computer proficiency, including knowledge of word processing, graphics, and database programs Awareness and sensitivity for international concerns and confidentiality Willingness and ability to work as a team PREFERRED: Other health-related degrees desirable, such as Masters of Science desirable FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: YES SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: YES IS THIS POSITION AT RISK OF EXPOSURE TO BLOOD-BORNE PATHOGENS?
